Edith Head
"What a costume designer does is a cross between magic and camouflage..." --Edith Head
With over 400 films under her belt it's no wonder Edith Head's name has become synonymous with costume design! The renowned film costume designer, famous for her large, round glasses, dressed some of Hollywood's most glamorous actresses of the past, including Mae West, Veronica Lake, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, and Grace Kelly, and earned more Academy Awards than any other woman in history as a result.

Hubert de Givenchy
"She was capable of enhancing all my creations..." --Hubert de Givenchy on Audrey Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn is without a doubt a style icon, but she didn't earn the status all on her own--Hubert de Givenchy, founder of The House of Givenchy, is responsible for the impossibly chic costume designs of some of her most famous films, including Breakfast at Tiffany's, Funny Face, Sabrina, and Paris--When It Sizzles.

Orry-Kelly
"Bette Davis, in the end, only wanted her costumes made by him..." --Movie Producer Damien Parer of Orry-Kelly
Considered one of the greatest in his field, it's not surprising that Bette Davis wanted costume designer Orry-Kelly (born John Orry Kelly) to dress her. The winner of three academy awards, Orry-Kelly also dressed Hollywood greats such as Katharine Hepburn, Ava Gardner, and Olivia de Havilland, among others. The Australian-born costume designer worked with every major Hollywood studio on over 250 classic films like Casablanca, Some Like It Hot, Oklahoma!, and An American in Paris.
