What plug-ins or software are needed to see the features on this site?

Flash MX Player 7 and above: You will need this plugin to view special flash based animations and features. Follow this link to Macromedia's site for step-by-step instructions on downloading and installing it.

Streaming Video: To view the streaming video, you will need the free Windows Media Player. Follow this link for step-by-step instructions on downloading and installing the Windows Media player .

PDF Files: To view PDF files, you will need to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software. To get the FREE Acrobat Reader software click here. Then follow the installation instructions on the Adobe site.

About Scripts
 

Are cascading style sheets and javascripts used on this site?

Yes. This site uses cascading style sheets for text layout and appearance and javascript for navigation and functionality.

Style sheets and scripting are enabled in your browser by default. If you have altered your settings and disabled them, please make sure style sheets and javascripts are accepted in your browser preferences to properly experience this website.

If you have questions about how to enable style sheets and script settings, use the following instructions:

Internet Explorer 4.x (PC)
Go to View on top of browser and choose Internet Options .
Select the Security tab and then choose the " Custom (for expert users) " option.
Click on the Setting button.
Scroll down to the Scripting option and then select the box to enable " Active Scripting ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer 5.x (PC)
Go to Tools on top of browser and choose Internet Options .
Select the Security tab and then choose the Internet icon.
Click on the Custom Level button.
Scroll down to the Scripting option and then select the box to enable " Active Scripting ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer 4.x (MAC)
Go to Edit on top of browser and choose Preferences on bottom of list.
On the left-hand side of the box, click on the triangle labeled Web Browser to open its sub-choices.
Select Web Content from the list of sub-choices.
On the right-hand side of the box, find the " Page Content " section and check the box for " Show Style Sheets ."
Then find the " Active Content " section immediately below and check the box for " Enable Scripting ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the Preferences window.

Netscape 4.x (MAC & PC)
Go to Edit on top of browser and choose Preferences on bottom of list.
Click on Advanced on the left-hand side of the box.
On the right-hand side of the box, choose " Enable JavaScript " and " Enable Style Sheets ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the Preferences window.

About Cookies
 

Are "cookies" used on this site?

Yes. "Cookies" are harmless bits of code that an internet site assigns to your browser to keep track of who you are when you are visiting the site. There is no security risk of information on your hard drive being exposed to the outside world since a website can only read cookies it creates.

These cookies cannot read personal information on your hard drive. In order to use "Web Payments" in the FIDM Student Portal when making a payment online on a student account, cookies must be enabled.

If you have questions about how to enable "cookie" settings, use the following instructions:

Internet Explorer 6.x (PC)
Go to Tools on top of browser.
Choose Internet Options on bottom of list.
Go to the Privacy Tab and move the settings slider to Low or Accept All Cookies .
Press OK to save and then close the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer 5.x (PC)
Go to Tools on top of browser.
Choose Internet Options on bottom of list.
Go to the Security Tab and then choose the Internet icon.
Choose the Custom level and then scroll to the Cookies section.
In the Cookies section, click the boxes to enable " Allow cookies that are stored on your computer " and " Allow per-session cookies (not stored) ."
Press OK to save and then close the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer 4.x (PC)
Go to View on top of browser.
Choose Internet Options on bottom of list.
Go to the Advanced tab on the far right and then scroll down to the Security section.
Go to the Cookies section and choose " Always Accept Cookies ."
Press OK to save and then close the Internet Options window.

Internet Explorer 4.x (MAC & PC)
Go to Edit on top of browser and choose Preferences on bottom of list.
On the left-hand side of the box, click on the triangle labeled Receiving Files to open its sub-choices.
Select Cookies from the list of sub-choices.
On the right-hand side of the box, find the menu labeled " When Receiving Cookies " and select " Never Ask ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the Preferences window.

Netscape 4.x (MAC & PC)
Go to Edit on top of browser and choose Preferences on bottom of list.
Click on Advanced on left-hand side of box.
On right-hand side of box choose either: " Accept All Cookies " or " Warn Me Before Accepting a Cookie ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the Preferences window.

Netscape 6.x (MAC & PC)
Go to Edit on top of browser and choose Preferences on bottom of list.
From the left navigation bar click the arrow beside Privacy & Security and click Cookies from the expanded list.
Within the Cookies window, click the radio button next to " Enable all cookies ."
Press OK to save changes and then close the window.
