At FIDM, getting involved is fun. Events on and off campus are scheduled regularly for students to network with industry leaders, as well as with each other.
Students Compete for Prizes
Networking Opportunity With Fashion Blogger Wendy Nguyen
Imagine how cool it would be if YouTube came to your school with a famous fashion stylist and asked you to compete in a styling challenge for a chance to win prizes. That's just what went down at FIDM recently!
Students worked in teams of three—stylist, model, and videographer—to put together a runway-ready look in just 10 minutes. The winning team, Creative Captivatorz, styled by Apparel Industry Management Student Anthony Hernandez, was awarded $200 in prizes and a tutorial session with YouTube fashion star Wendy Nguyen of Wendy's Lookbook. Don't miss their amazing YouTube video edited by Digital Media Student Devonte Glover, documenting the challenge.
YouTube representatives hung out on campus for a few hours to answer questions about how to best use YouTube to promote fashion and beauty brands, while students were treated to refreshments and a DJ.
"The creativity of the FIDM Student population falls perfectly in line with the creative community that already exists on YouTube. We are excited to see how FIDM Students utilize the platform to expand their personal brands," said YouTube Strategist Margaret Gregory.
