At FIDM, getting involved is fun. Events on and off campus are scheduled regularly for students to network with industry leaders, as well as with each other.

FIDM Summer Fashion Program

Fashion Workshops, Field Trips, and Guest Speakers!

Each summer, hundreds of high school students flock to FIDM from all over the U.S. to attend the 3 Days of Fashion summer program. For three amazing days, attendees participate in hands-on workshops, learn about fashion, and mix and mingle with industry professionals!

Meet and Greet

Over 40 Fashion Club presidents attended this year's event. At a special meet and greet, they networked and shared club ideas. And guess what? Those who started an official FIDM Fashion Club at their school were invited to attend for free, which is great considering that's a $250 value!

Workshops

Students were immersed in the world of fashion. Renowned FIDM Instructor Nancy Riegelman led a session on how to sketch the 9-head fashion figure. Students learned about fashion draping and upcycling fashion—they were asked to take a garment (selected from the FIDM Scholarship Store), cut it up, and refashion it into something else. The finished product was theirs to keep! They also learned about product development and shoe design.

Shopping

Those who attended 3 Days of Fashion on the Los Angeles campus walked over to the New Mart for the always amazing last-Friday-of-the-month sample sale! Allison Cox said she picked out some very unique styles—"a gorgeous beaded dress, a cheetah print biker jacket, a beautiful printed scarf, an orange shrug, a ruffly printed dress, and two pairs of earrings!"

Feel The Love

It was a fantastic three days filled with fun, learning, and networking! "It was the most amazing camp ever and I'll definitely miss all the new friends I made," shared Talia Wun-Young. Another attendee, Lenora Villegas, said, "I learned so much about fashion terms and style forecasting. It was an unforgettable experience." Some of the students even blogged about it. Parent Program

Pssst... Parents should know that there is a special program arranged just for them. So, if you attend next year, just know that while you are having fun learning lots of new skills and important things about the fashion industry, parents will also be doing cool stuff, like going on sight-seeing and campus tours!

3 Days of Fashion is held on all four FIDM campuses: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County, and San Diego. Workshops vary from campus to campus. For more information, please visit fidm.edu.
