Fashion Club’s Favorite Downtown Places

Last month we showed you some of Downtown’s most popular places, now check out the Fashion Club team’s personal faves, from where we shop to where we eat and where we can’t wait to go.

“I’m crazy about Wood Spoon, this adorable little Brazilian restaurant a few blocks from campus. They have the absolute best coconut macaroons I’ve ever tasted, and the chicken pot pie and Brazilian sausage are insane!”

Angel Teems,
Fashion Editor

“I’ve heard great things about Salon Eleven and I can’t wait to go. It’s walking distance from FIDM and Denice and Candice both got their stylish haircuts there. They even had an eyelash bar at the Fashion Club Pre-Party!”

Marianne Alfonso,
Sr. Web Designer

“My favorite place is Metropolis Books. I can pick up cards, journals, gifts—or a new copy of Pride and Prejudice—all at this Downtown indie bookstore.”

Kim Askew,
Content Manager

“Hands down, Bohemian Crystal. This shop sells beads, crystals, rhinestones, and trim. Sparkle, sparkle, sparkle—need I say more?”

Clarissa Ramirez,
Fashion Club Promotions Manager

“I’d have to say Morrie’s for deep discounts on designer and private label clothing. I’ve scored a Marc Jacobs jacket for $45 and Habitual jeans for $30!”

Harriet Grant,
Fashion Club Art Director

“My favorite place Downtown is Famima. They offer a great selection of freshly made foods, everything from coffee to Pocky. They’re also open until 12am—perfect for late-night snack runs!”

Candice Benjamin,
Jr. Web Designer
