What High School do
you go to and what grade will you be in the Fall? I attend Lindenhurst High School and i
will be entering the 11th grade.
Describe your social group and what
you like to do for fun. I met my friends in my classes and since
I am in all-honors I ended up with very intelligent friends.
We like to do what most teenagers do: go to the movies, shop,
and things like that. .
What do you want to do when you "grow up"? I want to work in the fashion field somewhere.
I am not exactly sure what I want to do yet, but something
in the field and definitely not designing, since I am not
artistic. I would like to do something somewhere in the marketing
aspect of fashion.
What trends for fall are you most excited about wearing and
why, and which trends will you avoid and why? I love the skinny jeans. I am very excited
to be able to wear those. I will most likely be avoiding the
leggings since I have not been a huge fan of them from the
beginning.
If you could afford to dress in any designer, which one would
it be and why? I love Betsey Johnson's designs because
they are funky-chic and somewhat out there. I like the idea
of making a statement with a dress and Betsey Johnson's dresses
accomplish that. I would want a Chanel suit when I enter the
business world because they are classic and just absolutely
beautiful.
. Describe style in Long Island. In Long Island there are a lot of different
styles. Since we are so close to the city, a lot of the trendy
styles are also seen throughout Long Island. You also see
a lot of chain-store apparel such as Holister, Abercrombie,
and American Eagle.
How do you think New York fashion differs from L.A. fashion? I think that L.A. and New York fashion
differ in a few ways. One way would definitely be impacted by
the weather. In New York during the winter you see a lot of
layering due to how cold it gets. I do not know how much of
that you would see in L.A. since it does not get to the same
temperatures.
Did winning this contest make you more or less interested
in fashion or FIDM? Winning this contest has made me
more interested in fashion. I really enjoyed getting a taste
of all different looks. I can definitely see myself with a
career in fashion in the future.
