A Look Inside FIDM’s DEBUT 2009 Runway Show

Missed the ‘It’ event of the year? Fashion Club is hooking you up with the highlights!

The DEBUT 2009 Runway Show was a celebration of FIDM talent, showcasing work from students in the Fashion Design and Theatre Costume Design Advanced Study Programs, as well as Graphic Design, Digital Media, Interior Design, and Textile Design.

Professional dancers showed off their best moves (from the Waltz to the Charleston) in original designs from the FIDM Theatre Costume Design students.

FIDM Interior Design, Textile Design, and Fashion Design students collaborated efforts on the “Chairing Styles” Project, a chic pairing of furniture and fashion.

From casual menswear to extravagant evening gowns, the runway show was a spectacular display of nine months of hard work from FIDM’s exceptional Fashion Design Students.

This year’s FIDM DEBUT Runway Show paid a special tribute to the ultimate international style icon…Barbie®! The student designers created glamorous looks for the star in shades of black, white, and, of course, pink!
