From the heart of Mexico all the way down to exotic Brazil, Latin American designers are making a stylish impression on the Fashion Industry and Hollywood has taken notice (so has Fashion Club!). Here are just a few of the influential designers whose designs are muy bonita!

David Rodriguez

It didn’t take long for FIDM Fashion Design Grad David Rodriguez to rise to stardom in the fashion world, especially since he’s been practicing since the age of four! After working for Richard Tyler and Chanel, the New York-based designer launched his own collection, helping to make stars such as Carrie Underwood, Jessica Alba, and even Oprah the best dressed on the red carpet!

Brian Reyes

It’s no surprise that young Hollywood (including Rachel Bilson and our beloved America Ferrera) is wild about Brian Reyes—the 26-year old fashion designer worked at three of fashion’s biggest houses, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and De La Renta, before branching off on his own at the age of 24!

Eduardo Lucero

Los Angeles-based Eduardo Lucero is a red carpet favorite for one reason—his gorgeous, “look at me” creations are like eye candy that celebs like Eva Longoria, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Cameron Diaz love to eat up! The Durango, Mexico native plans to add a line of accessories, including shoes, handbags, belts, and hats, as well as a menswear collection to his already fabulous high-end women’s line.

Carlos Miele

His last name may mean ‘honey’ in Spanish, but Brazil native Carlos Miele’s wickedly glamorous designs are anything but sweet! His love for vivid colors, plunging necklines, and clingy silhouettes make him one of the most sought-after designers for the red carpet. Plus, Miele helps women from poorer parts of Brazil by hiring them to do the artisan embroidery, beading, and crocheting for his designs—now that’s sweet! What’s more, his eponymous stores sell a line of T-shirts that were designed by Scarlett Johansson and other celebs to benefit the Rainforest Foundation-US.

He’s been featured on CNN and HBO, had articles written about him in the New York Times and WWD, and dressed the biggest names in Hollywood, including Mariah Carey and Heidi KlumClick here to learn how fashion designer David Rodriguez got his start at FIDM!
